Resources to Support the BC IRPs

This wiki provides curriculum-related resources in multiple means of representation so that students who have difficulty reading or are not engaged by the traditional textbook can access information in different ways.

Each wiki page is based on a BC IRP and contains a variety of digital resources that support that IRP.  For each curriculum topic, a selection of the best online sites for students has been collected in a visual index using a free tool called sqworl.

Need more resources?  Here are my favourite links for curriculum planning organized on a handy sqworl page.

How Teachers are Using This Wiki:

  • including students with special needs in the curriculum
  • differentiating instruction by offering student choice
  • alternate way to access curriculum material for students who are absent or can't read the textbook
  • more practice with curriculum material for students who need more repetition
  • extension activities for students who need more challenge
  • showing photos, videos, or interactives on the SMARTBoard
  • in computer lab with whole class (students only need to type in the sqworl address!)
  • at home for parents who want to help support their kids (just give parents the sqworl address!)
