NASA Starchild Space Stuff
This section of the NASA website presents information about space probes, spacesuits, becoming an astronaut, and the history of space travel. Information is presented in two different levels of difficulty, and the level 1 site includes audio support. The main Starchild site includes links to similar sections on the Solar System and the Universe. This appears to be an older section of the NASA website but the information is presented very simply.

NASA Home Page
The main NASA home page contains tabbed links to different sections for teachers, students (3 different levels), and the Kids Club as well as links to special sections on the Space Shuttle/Station and Technology. There is a lot of information here that requires good computer skills and reading at grade level.

This site contains links to information about many aspects of space. The visual interface is a bit busy, but the site is searchable and information is presented at three different reading levels.

The Canadian Space Agency site contains information about the Canadarm. The NASA site also has information about the 25th anniversary of the Canadarm including a link to a photo gallery.

How Many People are in Space Today?
This cool website simply shows how many people are in space and lists their names, countries, duties on the space station and days in space.

This book has a section on Space Exploration (pp. 28-31) with links to online websites with additional activities. I have this book in my office and you are welcome to borrow it.

We Choose the Moon
This outstanding site features an interactive exploration of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon with students controlling the movement to each stage. At each of 11 stages, students can explore additional picture and video galleries and hear original audio communication with the Apollo astronauts.

Technology Interactives and Colouring
The Canadian Space Agency site hosts interactives for 3 space technologies: dextre, radarsat-2, and phoenix. Each interactive features online animation that shows and explains (in writing) how the technology works. For example, the Dextre page features 10 different animations. Selected pages are printable and/or can be coloured online.

On this interactive site, students role-play becoming a Martian citizen and exploring the planet through interactive maps and videos.

Create a Presentation
The NeoK12 page on Space Exploration includes a tool for creating a slideshow about space exploration. Students choose from Flickr pictures offered under a Creative Commons license, read a Wikipedia article, write captions for the pics they have chosen, and the presentation is automatically produced.

The Neok12 page on Space Exploration contains a selection of 15 videos including the importance of space suits, tours of the international space station, colonizing the moon, and exploring Mars. The Neok12 website also has separate pages for 11 space-related topics including solar system, moon, universe, exoplanets, and galaxies.

A search of the gallery using the keyword "space" returned 23 folders. These include folders on various space missions (Apollo, Gemini, Mercury, etc.) and technology (space stations, shuttles, satellites.

Lessons
A search for Space in science in the Activity Exchange returned hundreds of lessons, many of which turned out to be single images, image collections, or videos. These lessons can be previewed online before downloading.
