WBFS has entries for American Indian and totem.  There are also numerous articles on particular cultures such as Haida, Inuit, Tsimshian.  These articles can be saved as .pdf files and imported to Kurzweil.

This site contains pages on many aboriginal cultures including the Haida, Inuit, Plains Cree, Metis, and Nisga'a.  The emphasis is on history and past traditions. 

Canadian Museum of Civilization:  First Peoples

Click on the arrow to view the whole presentation or the  Index to access a particular topic.  This website contains an extentensive online collection of information and media on many different cultures.  There is so much information that this site would probably be best used by teachers previewing and directing students to particular pages.  This is also a great source of photos to use on the SMARTBoard.  It has not been included in the student links above.

The First People's Legends website has collected legends for many aboriginal cultures here including Haida, Tsimshian, Inuit, Blackfoot, Iriquois. There are a few ads on this site so I have not included it on the student sqworl page.

Flickr's Commons houses a large collection of historical photos which are in the public domain.  Photo on the left from McCord Museum collection.  Try search by tribe name of by keyword such as teepee, canoe, etc.

The Gallery contains a folder called Native North Americans which contains a map of tribes, pics of artefacts such as totem poles and baskets, and several historical pics. 

 
 

Lessons

The activity exchange contains several lessons for Native Americans and Inuit that you can preview before downloading.  

 

Teacher Penny H. was kind enough to share a downloadable chart she uses in curriculum planning to compare modern and traditional characteristics of 4 main aboriginal groups: coastal, plains, woodlands, arctic.
